Top Nail Colour Picks of Spring 2014 by katurahali featuring a Spring nail colour

It's that time of year again and we are trying to match colours to our outfits and get into springtime mode! The colours above are my top 5 picks for the spring 2014 season!

The colours are from left to right: Vanity Fairest, Warm & Toasty Turtleneck, Play Date, Absolutely Shore, and Naughty Nautical.

I personally love these colours because they are bright, eye catching and they just leave you feeling happy! Whether you have your nails done for your night out on the town or just a regular day at the office, you can easily find the perfect colour.

I chose Essie because I find that this nail polish stays on longer and if done right, it doesn't chip. You can pick up Essie at any drugstore in your area. It is also available online as well, just make sure to do your research!

We have a giveaway going on and the Grand Prize is all 5 of those colours and the prize is worth $60.00CDN

Your Eyes Are The Doors To Your Inner Beauty

Your Eyes Are The Doors To Your Inner Beauty

Your Eyes Are The Doors To Your Inner Beauty by katurahali featuring evening eye makeup

When it comes to our eyes, they are the first things people look into to learn about who we are. Your eyes tell everything from you being emotional to being happy. I want to inform each and every one of you on how to get fantastic looking eyes from having high curled lashes to that wide eyed open look.

One thing you need to learn is the natural curl of your lashes. By doing this all you need to do is study your eyes and apply the mascara with the arch of your lashes, from root to tip.

If you are going to use an eyelash curler, always curl your lashes before you apply the mascara because you will not damage your lashes. If you were to curl your lashes with mascara on, you run the risk of pulling your lash follicle away from the lid and damaging the area. You will also leave a mess because your mascara will clump together.

One of my favourite tricks to get me the extra curl I need, is to turn the brush while I am applying. But I also curl it backwards with the natural lash and curl I have. Try this trick next time you are applying your mascara!

When you are looking for that wide eyed, wide awake look, take your mascara wand and go as close to the base of your lashes as possible and as you are going through your lashes, give the brush the back and forth motion. That will help lengthen and also separate and lift those hairs so you can show off those beautiful peepers!

When picking out your mascara it is as tricky as trying on a few hundred pairs of pants. I mean for myself, I am picky! You want to get a great mascara that is going to do everything it is advertised to do so you need to have one that is going to do it all. You never want to layer mascara because for one thing the different formulations will not work together and you are left with spider like and clumpy eyelashes. Also you are contaminating two mascaras either way which In the end you are spending more money because you need to replace two mascaras instead of one.

So next time you are looking for a great mascara, get a disposable wand from the company you want to try and try one formulation on one eye and then another formulation on the other. Compare the pros and cons for each and from different angles so you can see which one is better.

In My Makeup Bag

In My Makeup Bag by katurahali featuring perfume fragrances

I would love to share with all my readers and followers a few items that accompany me everyday in my life. Even though they are quiet simple, you can play them up for the neutral day look and even for the night look.

I have chose the Clinique CC Cream because I find it is light enough and evens out my skin tone. Also, with having combination skin, I don't like to load layers on my skin and this cream is perfect when it comes to consistency.

My absolute favourite lipstick colour is Rose Aglow from Clinique as well. It is long lasting and my trick to make it stay longer, is I line my whole lip with lip liner as a base and then add my lipstick. I am constantly drinking liquids throughout my day, so i do lose a little bit of the pigment colour but it does give my lips some added colour all day long.

Neutral shadows are your best friend. Whether you are sporting the brown eyes, blue eyes, grey eyes or even green eyes, going neutral will be a winning look everyday. I chose Like Mink Duo Eyeshadow from Clinique because they stay on all day, they don't crease and they give my lids a little hint of colour on those days where you aren't looking for an extreme look.

To finish the eyes off, I have High Impact Mascara in Black and I apply that to my lashes. It gives me length, volume and a bold look and finishes my neutral look off. An easy tip that I find works is, as you are applying the mascara, twist your wand as you are applying so it gives you a more wide-eye look and curls the lashes a little more. You will get perfect wide eyes daily especially on those days you are tired and feeling exhausted.

Before I go to bed, I like to apply Nivea Lip Butter because it replenishes the moisture I am lacking and I wake up with soft, supple, kissable lips. This lip butter helps heal chapped lips and also comes in a convenient tin that can tuck nicely into your clutch or purse pocket.

Last, but certainly not least, my absolute favourite perfume. It is Bombshell from Victoria's Secret. With the hints of vanilla in it and a fresh clean smell, it can be used for an everyday perfume. It is sexy, fresh and bound to turn a few heads.
