Secrets To An Even Complexion

Oh the dreaded areas on our face that either are red patches, dark spots, pigmentation and those difficult memories of a young teenager.

Some days you just feel like throwing your hands up and giving up! But wait! You can control the issues and feel better about yourself in no time. It's all about patience and realizing that overnight it isn't going to go away, it will take some time.

Learning about your skin and finding out the problems causing these issues will help you figure out how to control them. Whether it is a change in diet, exercise, puberty, stress, or just elements of mother nature, you can get your skin into a routine and you will notice a difference in no time.

With all the technology changes and advance techniques you can use today to slow aging, clear skin, inject your skin with Botox, and lasers touching your skin, people seem to think that is the only way to change things. But really and truly it is far from the truth. We are meant to age so slowing it down with only make it worse later on for you in your life.

A safe way to even out your complexion would be to exfoliate 2-3 times a week, there are moisturizers out there with dark spot correctors in them. (Clinique-Dark Spot Correcting Moisturizer with SPF 15) And they work if you use them everyday. Always use a moisturizer with a SPF in it, you will thank it later in life when your skin thins out.

Another tip for you: TANNING BEDS WILL MAKE IT WORSE! Don't use them to even out your skin tone! Yes it may seem like your skin is even and looking nice and "toasted" but again Tanning Beds cause pigmentation and can lead to skin cancer, it is kind of an oxymoron. You are preventing something that may not be preventable later on, years down the road.

The best way to help yourself is to develop a routine and follow it for at least a 75-90 days. There are things in everyday life that we can not change and only accept them for what they are. Just be aware of the dark spots or marks on your face and don't be afraid to talk to your Dermatologist about any concerns.

If you need your daily dose of Vitamin D, take a tablet or spend time outside. But protect yourself. SPF with UVA/UVB will protect you. Just be aware. We all love to be outside in the nice warm sun shining down on us and that is Ok. There is nothing wrong with it! I would never say become a "Hermit" because life would really bring you down if you weren't allowed to leave the house because you are afraid of the sun.

The best thing I have been taught about my skin is that, yes I had horrible pigmentation under the layers of my skin and it would eventually show by the age of 30. Which I wasn't aware of the amount until I was under a blue light for the first time in my life. And I couldn't believe what was under the layers of my skin. But I caught it early and changed my routine and slowed down the process of developing more pigmentation and dark spots. Awareness is key and if you are not afraid to learn what your body and skin are going through then its a great sign of catching things before you are too late.

Enjoy!
