Browsing With Expression

Bushy, thick, thin, those are just some of the descriptive words that we say when describing our eyebrows. Whether you are trying the thin brow look or you are letting them grow fuller, we have all, at some point disliked the shape or have had a bad experience at the salon when "cleaning them up".

To get that amazing arch and full "perfect" brow, it takes time and patience, especially after a few bad experiences. Once you work your brows into the shape you love all that is left is just detailing with an eyebrow shaper or a pencil.

When choosing a color, always go with either a neutral shade or the natural color of your hair. Don't press hard on your brow, because you want to gradually fill in your brow with light movements.

A couple options from a few product lines are; Shiseido and Lancôme.

Shiseido Eyebrow Styling Compact- $32, Sears, Sephora, The Bay

The defining brush makes it easier to detail the brow and get the best shape possible. It comes in three different shades from dark brown, medium brown and light brown. It is great to use wet or dry, depends on the look you are trying to achieve.

Lancôme Eyebrow Pencil, $29, Sears, The Bay

Lancôme Eyebrow pencils are easy to use and can be thrown in your purse for those times at the office or a fun night out, you can easily apply the color fast and effectively. One end of the pencil has a groomer for those unruly brows that don't want to cooperate and it makes it easier to spread the color.

So go on out there and raise a few brows and find what works for you and be bold and daring! Just think how many heads will turn and you will be glad you did!

Your Eyes Are The Doors To Your Inner Beauty

Your Eyes Are The Doors To Your Inner Beauty

Your Eyes Are The Doors To Your Inner Beauty by katurahali featuring evening eye makeup

When it comes to our eyes, they are the first things people look into to learn about who we are. Your eyes tell everything from you being emotional to being happy. I want to inform each and every one of you on how to get fantastic looking eyes from having high curled lashes to that wide eyed open look.

One thing you need to learn is the natural curl of your lashes. By doing this all you need to do is study your eyes and apply the mascara with the arch of your lashes, from root to tip.

If you are going to use an eyelash curler, always curl your lashes before you apply the mascara because you will not damage your lashes. If you were to curl your lashes with mascara on, you run the risk of pulling your lash follicle away from the lid and damaging the area. You will also leave a mess because your mascara will clump together.

One of my favourite tricks to get me the extra curl I need, is to turn the brush while I am applying. But I also curl it backwards with the natural lash and curl I have. Try this trick next time you are applying your mascara!

When you are looking for that wide eyed, wide awake look, take your mascara wand and go as close to the base of your lashes as possible and as you are going through your lashes, give the brush the back and forth motion. That will help lengthen and also separate and lift those hairs so you can show off those beautiful peepers!

When picking out your mascara it is as tricky as trying on a few hundred pairs of pants. I mean for myself, I am picky! You want to get a great mascara that is going to do everything it is advertised to do so you need to have one that is going to do it all. You never want to layer mascara because for one thing the different formulations will not work together and you are left with spider like and clumpy eyelashes. Also you are contaminating two mascaras either way which In the end you are spending more money because you need to replace two mascaras instead of one.

So next time you are looking for a great mascara, get a disposable wand from the company you want to try and try one formulation on one eye and then another formulation on the other. Compare the pros and cons for each and from different angles so you can see which one is better.

In My Makeup Bag

In My Makeup Bag
In My Makeup Bag by katurahali featuring perfume fragrances

I would love to share with all my readers and followers a few items that accompany me everyday in my life. Even though they are quiet simple, you can play them up for the neutral day look and even for the night look.

I have chose the Clinique CC Cream because I find it is light enough and evens out my skin tone. Also, with having combination skin, I don't like to load layers on my skin and this cream is perfect when it comes to consistency.

My absolute favourite lipstick colour is Rose Aglow from Clinique as well. It is long lasting and my trick to make it stay longer, is I line my whole lip with lip liner as a base and then add my lipstick. I am constantly drinking liquids throughout my day, so i do lose a little bit of the pigment colour but it does give my lips some added colour all day long.

Neutral shadows are your best friend. Whether you are sporting the brown eyes, blue eyes, grey eyes or even green eyes, going neutral will be a winning look everyday. I chose Like Mink Duo Eyeshadow from Clinique because they stay on all day, they don't crease and they give my lids a little hint of colour on those days where you aren't looking for an extreme look.

To finish the eyes off, I have High Impact Mascara in Black and I apply that to my lashes. It gives me length, volume and a bold look and finishes my neutral look off. An easy tip that I find works is, as you are applying the mascara, twist your wand as you are applying so it gives you a more wide-eye look and curls the lashes a little more. You will get perfect wide eyes daily especially on those days you are tired and feeling exhausted.

Before I go to bed, I like to apply Nivea Lip Butter because it replenishes the moisture I am lacking and I wake up with soft, supple, kissable lips. This lip butter helps heal chapped lips and also comes in a convenient tin that can tuck nicely into your clutch or purse pocket.

Last, but certainly not least, my absolute favourite perfume. It is Bombshell from Victoria's Secret. With the hints of vanilla in it and a fresh clean smell, it can be used for an everyday perfume. It is sexy, fresh and bound to turn a few heads.

New Products and You

Do you ever want to start a new skin care routine and you are too afraid to because you think that you may "breakout" or have a "reaction"?

What about reading all the articles on the internet that you're researching because you are unsure which line to go with and you hear all the bad reviews and it puts bad ideas in your head?

Well to be perfectly honest, once you start a new product, your layers of your skin go through what is call "Cell Turnover". Cell turnover is a regeneration process that happens every 28-30 days and it results in the old dead and damaged skin cells being pushed to the surface of your skin so the new skin cells can now start to build from the inside out. Once the old dead and damaged cells have surfaced to the top layer of your skin, it could result in a minor breakout, rough skin texture, redness, and even just a lack of radiance or dull complexion.

We have all started something new and once you see a "reaction" or something that didn't seem "normal" you instantly think it isn't for you or you are allergic to it. Which in the end, most times, is the wrong solution. It's just your skin pushing out the bad and accepting and repairing the new developing skin cells and replenishing your moisture barrier.

Next time you are trying something new you need to give it at least 35-50 days to get the full value and the full result of your product. Open mind and patience is a huge part of introducing anything new to your skin. If you aren't confident in the new product, research it beforehand, visit the consumers website, company's website and even call the consumer line and talk to a highly accredited dermatologist. They are there for a reason.

Just continue your normal skin care routine of cleansing, toning, exfoliating and moisturizing and radiance will begin to show through as the healthy skin cells of your epidermis pull through.

The Benefits of Both Worlds

Let's face it, we all age in life and we all experience the adverse effects of the environment, pollution, and stress that life has to offer us. But whether you are a male or female skincare is important.

Our society has created boundaries for certain individuals because they may think that people may look at them differently if they took care of themselves or label them in such a way that doesn't make them a "human".

This article is to make not only women aware but also the men in this world as well, that deserve to have just as much benefit by taking care of their skin as women do. We all go through changes and just because you are a different sex, you still are entitled to take care of yourself.

Clinique Men's Skin Care, www.clinique.ca
The three most important items that should be used twice a day would be a cleanser, toning lotion and a moisturizer. Choosing these three items depends solely on your lifestyle and your skin concerns. It is an easy conversation to have and will be easier as you learn more.

Men, if you need to find what would work for you, do some research, try out a few different products here and there. As long as you are comfortable and step out of your comfort zone, you will have great looking skin and refreshed feeling in as little as 3 months.

My top 3 brands that I recommend would be: Clinique, Shiseido, Clarins.

A Wonderful Treat Your Skin Will Adore

One of my ultimate go to daily skin treats is Clarins Double Serum. I absolutely enjoy using this product for many reasons. You would think I was crazy by adding this serum to my oily skin but it actually has helped balance my skins oil production and does not make me more oily.

With 20 plant extracts, this anti-aging treatment will have an increase in the skin's vital functions. Within 4 weeks the skin will look firmer and younger, pores are less visible and your complexion is even and regains its natural glow.

~~~~~~~~~
The (5) vital functions that this serum helps treat are as follows;
Hydration: boosts hydration by 75% up to four hours after application which delays the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and then maintains the skins softness and comforts it. The main ingredients important for hydration are katafray bark extract and hyaluronic acid.
Oxygenation: Maritime pine extract and organic rosehip oil helps with the cells oxygenation which results in the radiance the skin will show after a few weeks of use.
Protection: Organic quinoa and green tea extract stimulate the activity of two genes involved in cell protection which in turn prevents premature aging.
Regeneration: Organic green banana extract, thyme and bocoa boosts production of collagen and glycosaminoglycans. Maintains skins firm, smooth and dense appearance.
Nutrition: Organic perilla and macadamia oils are the main ingredients which help speed up the process of how fast products penetrate the skins layers resulting in supple skin.
You will be doing your skin a favour by spoiling it with this amazing, lightweight formula that works for all skin types and you will notice a difference and feel that difference as well. Clarins Skincare stands behind their products and I believe this is one of the best products they have to offer. You can purchase this serum at any department store location where Clarins is sold.
